Winter Weather Alert

On Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for the St. Louis area, from 9 a.m. Friday morning until noon Sunday.

In light of the warning, Saint Louis University and SLUCare will be closed on Friday, Jan. 13.

Only emergency personnel — as identified by their respective vice presidents or the provost — should report to work on Friday.

All scheduled campus events on Friday, Jan. 13, and Saturday, Jan. 14, are canceled. Those hosting planned events should notify attendees that the event will not be held. Events planned for Sunday, Jan. 15 — including the women’s basketball game — will be held as scheduled unless otherwise announced.

Returning students are being encouraged to delay their return to campus until Monday to avoid hazardous travel conditions, if possible. Residence hall staff will be on hand for students who cannot delay their return to campus. Those who must travel during inclement weather are urged to use caution.

SLU will also be closed Monday, Jan. 16, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. All SLUCare clinics will be open Monday.

The University will reopen Tuesday, Jan.  17, for the first day of spring semester classes.
