His interests lie in understanding the electronic structures of chemical systems that are essential to reactivity. Leveraging the knowledge obtained about structure and bonding from an analysis of electronic structure enables design strategies for new catalysts and new chemical transformations in organometallic catalysis. He is interested in understanding how the electron configuration around a transition metal center can control stereochemistry in organic catalysis, redox catalysis, redox non-innocence and other complex electronic structures
