Steven Buckner, Ph.D.
Department of Chemistry
B.S., Chemistry, University of California, Riverside, 1983
Ph.D., Chemistry, Purdue University, 1988
Buckner's research efforts are directed towards development and application of novel nanomaterials and nanocomposites. The two principle applications for his nanocomposites include: (1) energy science. Buckner and his fellow researchers are working on novel high energy density systems with large hydrogen production capacities and with capabilities for hydrogen storage. Buckner is also developing high energy density materials with applications as pyrolants (2) biomedical materials. Buckner is working on metal oxide nanoparticle-polymer composites that may be used in tissue scaffolds.
