I am an only child and also a first-generation college student.
Why I Chose SLU
Saint Louis University gave me an opportunity to continue my higher education without having to worry too much about the financial aspect of college. I didn’t know anything about SLU, and I had never thought of coming here or even visited campus until SLU 101, and then I knew I felt at home and I slowly began to fall in love with SLU.
Adjusting to College
Since I’ve gotten to SLU, I have learned a lot about taking opportunities when possible. I constantly go to tutoring and my professors’ office hours. I have also had to plan out my days so that I am always on top of things and using my time wisely.
Serving the Greater Good
As a minor in service leadership, I have to do 200 hours of community service. I plan to spend most of my time with Labre and help the homeless while also building connections and getting to know them. I also plan to go to Arnold’s Food Pantry and help organize food cans, as well.
What else should you know about me?
I enjoy writing poetry and exploring new things both inside and outside the classroom.
