Saint Louis University offers both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. Which should you choose? SLU's B.A. in biochemistry gives you a strong foundation for further training in medicine, dentistry or pharmacy, while our B.S. in biochemistry prepares you for careers in biochemistry, molecular biology or biotechnology.
Biochemistry majors in both the B.A. and B.S. programs have ample opportunity to be involved in research under the mentorship of full-time faculty members and to use specialized equipment in our instructional and research labs. Select biochemistry students at SLU also have the chance to work with faculty members as laboratory assistants and receive a stipend for their work.
