Hope Lodges are free, temporary housing facilities for cancer patients who are undergoing treatment. They provide a home-like nurturing environment, so patients can get support from others going through the same experience. A cancer survivor’s recovery involves much more than medical treatments; it takes hope to heal. The mission of the of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

At BJC Hospice, through compassionate care, we provide a circle of support that is centered on comfort, quality of life, and the individual needs of each patient and family we serve.
- Home Visitor: Volunteers are needed to visit patients in the patient’s home to provide companionship, respite for the caregiver, help with housework, etc. Most visits take place on weekdays during the day. Having a car is required. Opportunities are limited.
- Inpatient Unit Volunteer: Volunteers are needed at Evelyn’s House, BJC’s 16-bed inpatient hospice facility in Creve Coeur. Volunteer duties include staffing the front desk, upkeep of the house, administrative duties, and occasional visits with patients. Having a car is required.
- Lumina Volunteer: Volunteers are needed for the Lumina program, which offers patients the opportunity to preserve the stories and experiences that define their lives. Volunteers help patients write letters to loved ones or create memory books, scrapbooks, videos, etc. Having a car is required.

- Blanket-Making: Volunteers are needed to make no-sew fleece blankets for adult patients in hospice. No sewing skills are needed, just the ability to cut fabric and tie knots. This activity is perfect for either a group project or working alone.
- Card-Making: Brighten the day of a hospice patient by making simple greeting cards. It makes a great project to do individually or as a group. All that’s needed is ordinary paper and markers, colored pencils or crayons.
- Veteran's Cards: Make a military veteran feel special in his or her final days by making patriotic greeting cards. The only materials needed are ordinary paper and markers, colored pencils or crayons. Stickers can be used as well.

To deliver high quality clinical and mental health services for uninsured and underinsured patients, focusing on new immigrants and refugees who encounter barriers to accessing other sources of care.
- Patient Interpreter: Perform on-site and over-the-phone interpretation for patients, families, and health care providers who prefer to speak in their primary language, other than English. A volunteer interpreter renders all messages accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or substituting, to enable other parties to know precisely what each speaker has said. - Mobile Vision Clinic (MVC) Visits: Be on the front lines of our mission! Volunteers help families check in, walk students to and from the Clinic, explain glasses care, administer surveys, and create a warm, welcoming environment.
- Warehouse Admin/Program Support: Our Operations team does incredibly hard work to ensure our two Mobile Vision Clinics goes out 3+ days a week to put glasses on kids faces. Having another set of hands around when the vehicles return at the end of the day is extra helpful with resetting the Clinics for the next day. Volunteer tasks include restocking program supplies (e.g. glasses cases), maintaining the cleanliness of the Clinic, and other tasks to support Operations as needed.

KVFL delivers vision services to under-resourced children in St. Louis through a school based model that eliminates poor vision as a barrier to learning in order to achieve higher academic and social outcomes.

Let Me Run inspires boys through the power of running to be courageous enough to be themselves, to build healthy relationships, and to live an active lifestyle. Work can be done from home
- Volunteer Coach: As a Let Me Run Coach, you will lead, mentor, and inspire the boys on your team to be confident, respectful, and healthy. Your team will meet twice a week for an hour and fifteen minutes. A team of coaches facilitates practice through our easy-to-follow curriculum. Each season culminates with an end-of-season 5K, which provides Let Me Run participants and coaches the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, support each other, and deepen their understanding of their individual and collective potential. Coaches are required to attend a training session, which then certifies them to coach for two years.

In America, nearly 11 million children are poor. That’s 1 in 7 children, who make up almost one-third of all people living in poverty in this country. Incredibly, babies in our very own country go without a fresh diaper, warm blankets, clothing, or a safe place to sleep. Poverty or illness impacts the tiniest babies and families become overwhelmed. As a pediatric bridge hospital, Ranken Jordan helps kids from birth to 21 who are well enough to leave a traditional hospital but still need help before they go home. Located in the heart of the Midwest, we specialize in caring for children and families with the most complex conditions, illnesses, and injuries and bridge the gap between hospital and home.
- Clinical Services: Engage in developmental play with patients ages 2 weeks to 21 years of age. Supervise and engage patients in activities both on and off the unit.

To engage leaders in building a better world through services to people with vision loss.
- On-line Manager: managing Facebook, Twitter, web-site, on-line messaging, e-newsletter, etc.
- Researcher: National surveys and data collection, analysis of research, presentation of results.
- Policy Analyst: Researching public policy relevant to vision loss and blindness, analyzing policy,developing plan to advocate at Federal level and implementing plan with national network of nonprofits serving the blind and visuallyimpaired.
- Assistant: Conference/meeting planning and production, bookkeeping, organizing files, communicating with nonprofits nationwide, mailings, membership management, etc.
All positions are available Mondays-Fridays, anytime 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

To heal more children, in less time, by transforming access to advanced pediatric healthcare.
- Therapy Companion: Accompany patients with physical/occupational therapy appointments. Attend clinic appointments and take notes of patient treatment/progress.
- Swim Therapy Companion: Transport families to Kirkwood YMCA for swim therapy. Volunteers can swim too!
- Recreational Host: Transport and accompany families to local Saint Louis attractions and events.
- Airport Ambassador: Pick up arriving families at St. Louis Lambert airport. Drop off families at the airport who are returning to their home country.
- House and Hospital Visitor: Visit the Ronald McDonald House to do activities with families. Visit the hospital on the day or during the stay of surgery for patients.
- Therapy Companion: M-F Mornings/Early Afternoons
- Swim Therapy Companion: Tues/Thurs 7 PM - 9 PM
- Recreational Host: Day/time flexible
