Come to Discover. Aim to Serve. Prepare to Succeed. The College of Arts and Sciences, founded in 1818, is the oldest college at the University. The College is a home for study, self-inquiry, research, and career exploration. The Jesuit tradition shapes the mission, curriculum, and teaching. Both undergraduate and graduate programs create an intellectual, caring, close-knit community that emphasizes student and faculty commitment to research, service, and outreach.

Faculty Spotlight

Robert Cropf (Political Science) was featured in
WalletHub's recent article about 2016's most and
least federally dependent states.

Matt Carlson, Ph.D. (Communication) was interviewed
on KWMU-FM 90.7 about Donald Trump's visit to St. Louis
and how the media covers his campaign.

Nate Millett, Ph.D., Associate Professor of History, has been
selected for a fellowship to the School for Advanced Research
in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is an especially competitive
fellowship whose recipients more often than not are
anthropologists rather than historians. He will be in residence
at the SAR during the 2016-17 academic year.
