Offered by the Saint Louis University Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology
Saint Louis University's computer engineering program teaches the analysis, design and development of electrical and computer systems, preparing you to either enter directly into the engineering profession or to continue your studies in graduate school. There is also an accelerated B.S. to M.S. option available.
Students in SLU's computer engineering program begin conducting experiments in Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology laboratories during their freshman year. You'll also have the opportunity to work with our faculty on research, enhancing your undergraduate experience and preparing you to work in the computer engineering industry.
In addition, you'll have the chance to participate in independent study under the direction of a faculty member, as well as in summer internship and cooperative education programs offered through local and national industries. Select undergraduate students in our computer engineering program may also be eligible for teaching assistantships working with a faculty member in a course or laboratory.
In addition to the University's general admission and graduation requirements, engineering programs at Parks College have additional academic requirements. (Please see the fact sheet on this program for additional details.)
In addition to a strong focus on computer skills and computer hardware and software, SLU's computer engineering program offers you ample opportunity to work on multidisciplinary teams and develop effective communications skills. The program also includes a two-semester design sequence in your senior year, giving you meaningful engineering design experience that focuses on skills you'll need for professional practice.
Undergraduate computer engineering students at SLU are also encouraged to seek out research opportunities with our department faculty. Summer research opportunities also exist within the department and other leading research universities.
