Saint Louis University's Cura program sponsors a variety of programs that support working relationships at SLU.
Here you will find upcoming events either sponsored by Cura or highlighted as opportunities for community building across campus. Cura events are marketed in Newslink, the HR Bulletin, and through direct communications to faculty and staff.
In addition to these one-time or annual events, the Cura program also includes ongoing development opportunities.
John O’Leary Speaker Event – “On Fire” – October 23, 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Based upon the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received last year following alumnus John O'Leary (CBS ‘99)'s “Power of One” talk, we have invited him to return to SLU this fall. In his talk “On Fire,” O'Leary (CBS ‘99) will help faculty and staff consider how constant change and distractions can be intentionally transformed into the gift of possibility and impact.
Cannonball Picnic – October 23, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Cannonball Picnic is an annual staff appreciation event held over fall break. Invitations are sent to staff via email.
The cannonball in the event's title references the moment that St. Ignatius was struck in the leg by a cannonball while serving as a knight in battle. His injury was the impetus for his conversion process to live not for fame and riches, but in service to God. The picnic is an opportunity for fellowship with colleagues.
