Offered by the Saint Louis University Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology
Saint Louis University Engineering Physics Degree Overview
Saint Louis University's engineering physics degree is designed for students who have a strong interest in physics, combined with the desire to acquire engineering skills.
If you choose to major in engineering physics at SLU's Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology, you can select a concentration in aerospace, biomedical, computer, electrical or mechanical engineering. Or, you can choose the interdisciplinary option, which gives you an opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines while developing a firm foundation in chemistry, biology and mathematics, as well as in physics and engineering. There is also an accelerated B.S. to M.S. option available.
No matter which you choose, you'll be prepared solve engineering problems using the principles and problem-solving approaches of physics. In addition to the University's general admission and graduation requirements, engineering programs at Parks College have additional academic requirements. (Please see the fact sheet on this program for additional details.)
What You'll Learn in SLU's Engineering Physics Program
Students who pursue an engineering physics degree at SLU also earn a minor in engineering mathematics, while offering a robust education in physics. In addition to a solid foundation in both disciplines, you'll have the chance to complete a senior design project, typically as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
What Can You Do With an Engineering Physics Degree from SLU?
SLU's ABET-accredited engineering physics program prepares you for careers in technology research and development requiring more physics than found in traditional engineering programs along with enhanced analytical, computational and laboratory skills.
Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology also assists students throughout the internship and cooperative education process. Its online job and internship database contains approximately 380 employers and more than 500 industry contacts within industries that employ Parks College students.
