Enrollment and Retention Management Departments
The Division of Enrollment and Retention Management (ERM) works collaboratively with the University community to build a strategic enrollment management (SEM) culture focused on achieving the University's student profile and success goals in a manner that is consistent with SLU's position as Catholic, Jesuit institution and national research university.
Fundamentally, ERM provides a wide range of services and data resources to help maximize SLU's ability to attract, enroll, retain and graduate talented and diverse students who are dedicated to changing the world for the better.
ERM currently consists of 139 team members supporting nine departments.
Office of Admission
The Office of Admission (OA) leads the University's efforts to identify and attract the most talented, diverse and dedicated students. OA assists prospective undergraduate and graduate students with their admission to SLU through counseling, tours, information sessions and special events. OA also provides outreach to high schools and community colleges, participates in college and career fairs, and hosts receptions and college readiness workshops throughout the United States and internationally. SLU admission counselors support students and families from their initial point of contact with the University until they are enrolled and proud Billikens.
Enrollment and Retention Management Communication
Enrollment and Retention Management Communication (ERMC) supports the University's SEM goals for increasing enrollments in targeted student populations and high-capacity academic programs. Working in close alignment with academic departments, ERMC assists in the development of recruitment and retention marketing strategies, communication plans, materials and displays. ERMC currently supports the communication efforts for the new SEM plan, international and military/veteran initiatives, and pre-college and summer programs.
Enrollment Outreach and Territory Development
Enrollment Outreach and Territory Development (EOTD) focuses on supporting new student populations along with initiatives to boost enrollments and student retention in existing degree programs. EOTD is also responsible for identifying and developing new non-degree programs to better maximize the University enterprise. EOTD currently supports enrollment programs for English as a second language (ESL) and military/veteran students and international summer programs.
International Services (IS) promotes international student success and a global perspective for the SLU community. IS executes its mission through international student orientation programs, social and cultural exchange activities, immigration advising and document support, and study abroad opportunities.
Pre-College and Access Programs
The Pre-College and Access Programs (PCAP) office coordinates SLU's non-credit activities for elementary, middle and high school students of all backgrounds. PCAP collaborates with University units to offer a variety K–12 academies, camps and enrichment experiences that align with SLU academic disciplines. Each program is designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable and learning-focused experience that will help prepare students for college while experiencing campus life at Saint Louis University.
Student Educational Services
Student Educational Services (SES) fosters academic excellence among first-generation college students and those from low and modest incomes. SES hosts student learning and personal development activities, including those for the U.S. Department of Education's TRiO programs, for targeted SLU students and for St. Louis metro area junior and high schools.
Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services assists students and their families in financing their SLU education. Financial aid counseling, eligibility determination and processing are combined with billing, payment planning, loan collections and financial literacy programs to offer students affordable and equitable options.
Summer Studies supports SLU's academic units in their efforts to increase participation in credit-bearing courses and professional development programs offered during the summer semester. The unit coordinates, supports and provides centralized promotion to a wide range of summer camps, academies, conferences, events and college readiness programs through the "Summer at SLU" campaign.
Office of the University Registrar
The Office of the University Registrar is made up of three units: the central registration and records office, the ERM Testing Center and the Clinical Education Compliance background confirmation office. The Registrar's office maintains the official academic records for SLU, including course registrations, grade transcripts and diplomas. It also administers institutional academic policies and procedures related to academic records, classroom scheduling, student reporting and student information system training/access. The ERM Testing Center provides students access to standardized qualifying examinations for the following computer-based tests: GRE, TOEFL, CLEP, MoGEA and MAT. Clinical Education Compliance coordinates the procurement of criminal background checks for all University student workers, staff and faculty.
