Mustafa Karnas

Mustafa Karnas
Graduate Student

Hello, my name is Mustafa Karnas. I am a first year PhD student in Special Education program. I am an international student from Turkey, but I have been in a long journey in the USA for 7 years. I had very little English before I came to the USA. So, in my first year, I studied English at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Then, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland to complete my master's degree at Johns Hopkins University. Later, I moved back to Missouri to complete a PhD program at Mizzou, but I transferred to SLU to be a PhD holder as a Billiken.

I like all sports especially soccer. I also follow European basketball champions' league which is called Turkish Airlines Euroleague. I love road trips. Whenever I have a chance, I drive somewhere else with my friends. I have visited 35 states in the USA in 7 years.

I currently work as an assistant at the Global Gateway Program (GGP) in the Center for Global Citizenship and I am surrounded by awesome people in this center. If you want to meet to me and learn more about Turkey and Turkish culture, visit me in my office at the Center For Global Citizenship, room 124.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
