Internship Role: Social Media Analyst

Task: Analyze GlobalShala's social media presence, devise newer methods to improve audience interaction.

Learning Outcomes: Learn the best practices and proven strategies for digital marketing and communications

Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Internship Role: Innovation Consultant

Task: Identify a new product/ business to launch & the steps needed to make it a reality for a start-up.

Learning Outcomes: Learn how to ask the right questions, experiment with ideas; apply analytical thinking, and work effectively in teams

Data Visualization

Internship Role: Data Analyst

Task: Analyze data from GlobalShala's Marketing team on Ad campaigns, in order to generate actionable reports for future campaigns.

Learning Outcomes: Learn how to effectively analyze data using data visualizations and to improve the look of presentations and data visualizations based on best practices in design.

Project Management

Internship Role: Project Manager

Task: Create a project plan that will be used by the GlobalShala to plan, organize and execute a global competition.

Task: Consult SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital to develop programs that address health-related needs of high school students and their school community.

Learning Outcomes: Learn how to conduct needs assessment that informs planning for healthcare services and communicate project goals to stakeholders.

About the Virtual Internship

Commit a total of 25-30 hours over four weeks.

Acquire valuable experience as you work on actual business problems.

Strengthen your communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Join a cohort of four or five students from around the globe to provide research-based recommendations for your sponsoring company’s project.

Choose from three areas of focus: digital marketing, data visualization, or entrepreneurship and innovation.

What do I have to do in this internship?

These virtual internships are experiential learning opportunities where you will be working with students like yourself from around the world, to solve real-life business problems. Each week you will be given a set of tasks to complete, all contributing and building towards your final report and presentation for the company.

What will I get for completing this internship?

At the end of the experiential learning opportunity, you will get a certificate of completion and a badge of honor to recognize your effort and hard work.

Will I work on real-world business problems?

Yes! You will be helping companies solve real-life business problems, and give recommendations on how to improve the same.

Is there any time zone requirement for this virtual internship?

This is a global internship where you will be working with students from around the world. You are free to coordinate your internal meetings at the convenience of all group members. There will be synchronous weekly assignments and check in meetings, and you will receive at least one week prior notice for the same.

Who can participate in these virtual internships?

Any high school, undergaduate or graudate student is eligible to participate regardless of your enrollement status at SLU.  The opportunity is also open for all international students and doesn't require any special visa permissions.
