New Information Security Awareness Training for Staff

This October, SLU will be implementing a new Information Security Awareness Training program for all University staff. The objective of this training is to reduce risk to the University by educating the community on how to protect the University's data, network and other IT resources. Faculty is not yet included in the training.

In the next few weeks, all staff will find a new Security Awareness Training compliance requirement listed on the Home tab in mySLU. There will be a link that directs you to a 5-7 minute module in SkillSoft about basic security awareness topics such as incident response, data classification, threat awareness, and good password practices.

Once the program is launched, staff members will receive a new compliance requirement with a short module to complete each quarter. The module will have a pre-test that allows users to test-out of the training.

The IT Security and Compliance team appreciates your cooperation in our effort to improve the overall security posture of the University. Additional information and answers to some commonly asked questions about the training are available on the IT Security Training page, under Information Security. Contact with any questions or feedback.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
