ILLiad Information for Journal Students

Students who are members of the Saint Louis University Law Journal, the Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law and Policy or the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law can follow the below steps to request items from another library.

Requesting Material for Journal

Getting started:

When requesting items from another library, the first step is to vet your source before requesting. If you need assistance in doing so, please see a reference librarian.

Before placing an ILLiad request, review our Borrowing Resources page to ensure the item is not already in the SLU, MOBIUS or Prospector catalogs.

If you are still unable to find the item, you may place an ILLiad request. These take longer than items coming through our courier, so request early. You are responsible for all items checked out to you, regardless of if they are for the Journal. If an item is lost or damaged, you will be billed accordingly.

Creating your ILLiad account:

  • Click on the First Time Users button of the ILLiad Login page
  • Use your SLU login as your username (e.g., rbginsburg)
  • Choose Law Journal as your Status
  • Choose Law Student as your Department
Book requesting tips:
  • Include all the information you have, including publisher and copyright year.
  • Use the Notes field to add extra information, even listing the reference librarian whom you consulted.
  • Check to make sure the item has not already been requested.
Article requesting tips:

Once your book or article has arrived and is ready for retrieval at the Circulation Desk or via your ILLiad account, you will receive an email notification.
