Mandatory Welcome Sessions

You are encouraged to make your travel arrangements to Madrid accordingly, as the welcome sessions are mandatory.

Dr. Vita speaks to new students at SLU-Madrid.

Fall 2019

New first-year and transfer students should plan to be at SLU-Madrid on Sunday, Sept. 1. The orientation program, featuring a scavenger hunt, information sessions and leisure time, will take place at the Fray Luis de León Cultural Complex, a retreat center located in the scenic Guadarrama Mountains outside Madrid. The two-day program is mandatory for all new first-year and transfer students.

If you are required or advised to take an institutional TOEFL exam, you will do so at the retreat.

New first-year and transfer students will return to campus on Tuesday, Sept. 3, for the Convocation, a ceremony which officially marks the beginning of your studies at SLU-Madrid.

If you are a study abroad student, make your flight arrangements to arrive at Madrid-Barajas Airport on Monday, Sept. 2. Study abroad welcome sessions will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the afternoon.
