SLU Bicentennial Celebration Commences
Last Saturday, Saint Louis University kicked off a year-long celebration leading up to the 200-year anniversary of the founding in 1818. An estimated 6,000 people attended the bicentennial Mass under the St. Louis Gateway Arch, including more than 100 Catholic and religious leaders.
After the Mass, the crowd watched a video announcing SLU's 200-Years-In-One service challenge which calls on SLU students, faculty, staff and alumni to continue to improve the world around us by giving back 200 years of volunteer service. The evening came to a close with fireworks over the Mississippi River. The full story is available here.
