SLU-Madrid provides a book service for students and faculty. At the “Bookstore” students may purchase their course texts and workbooks, as well as a variety of school supplies, Madrid Campus apparel and accessories. The bookstore also offers photocopying and mailroom services for students and faculty.
In Spain, many course texts, especially those from U.S. publishers, are difficult to obtain or simply not available; in addition, prohibitive shipping costs prevent returning books to distributors. Nonetheless, the Bookstore is committed to supporting the student learning experience by providing educational resources for all of its classes. Faculty are urged to submit book orders early, and students are reminded that return policies are strictly enforced.

Photocopying Services:

Students: Students may request photocopies to be made at the cost of €0.05 per page.
Faculty: Materials to be copied should be submitted in person or by e-mail ( or, for exams, no later than 24 hours prior to pick-up. 

Mail Room Services:

Students using our University Housing System -host families- should have mail sent to the University.

Students who are not living with a University-sponsored host family should have all letter mail sent to their local address, NOT to the University address; however, packages and mail requiring a signature can be sent to:

Book Refund Policy:

Prior to the scheduled close of the Bookstore on the term's published “last day to drop a class without a grade of W and/or to add a class”, refunds on textbooks and workbooks will be made according to the following refund policy:

  • Returned books must be in original condition.
  • The student must present the original SLU-Madrid Campus Bookstore receipt, along with the credit-card receipt (if applicable).
  • The student must present documentation indicating that s/he has dropped the class for which the book is used, or that the class has been cancelled.   

All refunds will be given at the Bookstore in the original form of payment.

Book Buyback Policy:

Book buyback is announced in the Bookstore bulletin board approximately one month prior to the buyback period scheduled for the end of a given term. The announcement lists the books to be bought back as determined by the academic departments. The Bookstore, however, reserves the right to limit the buyback of any book. Books not listed will not be bought back.
