Profitez, apprenez le français à Madrid!

Une gargouille parisienne!

Studying French at the Madrid Campus will prove an exciting opportunity: learn another romance language in addition to Spanish, converse with French speakers on campus, visit nearby France and apply what you've learned...

At the Madrid Campus, we offer Elementary French I (FREN 1010) and Elementary French II (FREN 1150) in the fall-spring sequence. Intermediate French I (FREN 2100) is offered occasionally on demand.

Petit déjeuner parisien: We meet at a café during regular classtime and speak French while enjoying a "Parisian" breakfast.

La fête des crêpes: Visit a crêperie or enjoy home-made crêpes during the month of February, the traditional season for crêpes in France (La Chandeleur).

To find out more, visit Dr. Roswitha Casmier during her office hours: Monday and Wednesday 3:00 pm - 4:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Padre Arrupe Hall, 2nd floor, or email her at ,

Official Language Exams

When applying for a job, having an official certificate to corroborate the level of your language skills is increasingly important since university courses, even majors, are not always accepted as valid proof of language level.

The DELF is the official language exam for French. For information, dates and location of upcoming exams, go to the official webpage and follow the instructions.
