Women's and Gender Studies


Women's and gender studies is a field that integrates knowledge from a variety of perspectives to study the situations of women in different world cultures, including different ethnic groups within the United States, with a focus on today and with attention to the historical contributions of women in building nations and cultures.

An interdisciplinary team of faculty members offer a variety of courses that may be cross-listed* to count towards the women's and gender studies major or minor offered by Saint Louis University.

The women's and gender studies minor is available in Madrid. Students wishing to major in women and gender studies are able to start their degree in Madrid and complete in St. Louis, Missouri.
