Rich Nickel is the Research Pharmacist for the Vaccine Center. He earned his BS in Pharmacy in 1977 and his MS in Pharmaceutics/Nuclear Pharmacy in 1980. Rich’s training included a rotation at the National Institutes of Health and a Nuclear Pharmacy Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Rich has worked with Investigational Drugs his entire career, starting out in the late 70’s writing IND’s for radiopharmaceuticals and monoclonal antibodies and continuing in a supervisory role by establishing quality and safety standards for a national pharmacy network. He served as a USP Volunteer and was involved in establishing sterile compounding standards for radiopharmaceuticals. Rich is a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association.
