Thank you to our 2021 sponsors.

More than 30 high school-aged students from across the country will participate in a virtual camp week that explores an array of aviation careers and the collegiate aviation programs offered at SLU’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology.

In place of their usual in-person camp week this summer, Parks College is hosting a Zoom-based camp, the Virtual Aviation Exploration Experience, June 14-18, 2021 for high school-aged students. For four hours each day, 31 campers from across the country will log in simultaneously for live guest speakers, virtual field trips, academic modules with Saint Louis University faculty and certified flight instructors and small group activities.  SLU’s industry partners including Republic Airways, Take Flight Girls, Inc., Spirit Airport Administration, St. Louis Downtown Fire Department and Air Traffic Control, and others will provide presentations and live demonstrations for the campers.  At the conclusion of the camp, groups of campers will present about some of the interesting aviation careers they learned about during the week in a closing ceremony.

Several current SLU aviation science students will serve as camp counselors, engaging with the campers and guiding discussion throughout the week.  The summer camp is made possible by generous sponsors who have funded more than 15 campers’ tuition scholarships:

This camp continues a year’s worth of virtual outreach programming that Parks College produced during the 2020-2021 school year and summer.  Parks College will also be hosting a Virtual Robotics Academy June 28 - July 2 and the Virtual Engineering Exploration Experience camp week July 12 - 16.  Nearly 100 high school students from across the US will participate in Parks College’s virtual summer programs this year.

Saint Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology has a worldwide reputation for research-inspired, project-based education in engineering and aviation. Parks has a rich history of creating well-rounded leaders in engineering and aviation fields.
