Saint Louis University is ranked among the top Jesuit universities in the country and is considered one of the nation's best values in higher education. The University has been lauded as a character-building college, noted for its service efforts. Below are some highlights of Saint Louis University's most recent rankings and awards.
The following graduate programs are ranked in the top 50 in the nation for 2017: health law (No. 1), healthcare management (No. 7), international business (No. 12), supply chain management (No. 13), entrepreneurship (No. 14), public health (No. 23), accounting (No. 24), law: part-time (No. 25), occupational therapy (No. 25), physician assistant (No. 27), law: clinical training (No. 30), physical therapy (No. 40), social work (No. 47) and medicine: primary care (No. 48).
Among the magazine's undergraduate rankings for 2016, SLU was listed 96 out of 280 doctoral universities with individual rankings for top national business programs (No. 93), entrepreneurship (No. 7) and international business (No. 7). Additionally, SLU was ranked No. 20 as a "Best Colleges for Veterans" and made the "High School Counselor's Picks" list.
SLU ranked No.68 on Kiplinger's list of the 100 top values in American private universities for 2016. Rankings considered cost and financial aid, student indebtedness, competitiveness, graduation rates and academic support.
Once again receiving national recognition for its commitment to service, SLU was awarded the Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification. The honor recognizes institutions' commitment to engaging with local, national and global communities. Nationwide, only 361 institutions hold the prestigious classification, and only 83 received the designation in 2015.
SLU was named one of the top schools in the country for undergraduate education in the Princeton Review's The Best 380 Colleges: 2016 Edition. The Princeton Review surveyed SLU students, who praised the University's academic programs, values-based curriculum and close-knit and active campus where they feel they belong.
SLU also made the list as one of the most sustainable campuses in the country.
SLU was also recognized by The Princeton Review as one of the "Top 25 Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Programs for 2016." Each year, the education services company recognizes 50 programs in all — 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate — for their excellence in entrepreneurship education.
SLU is included in the 2016 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, which is compiled based on the quality of academic offerings and student responses about topics ranging from perception of the institution's mission to the demographics of the student body.
SLU is listed in Forbes magazine's 2015 ranking of "America's Top Colleges." The magazine's list of more than 650 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education and student experiences and achievements.
SLU was named one of approximately 220 U.S. colleges and universities that provide "a first-class education at affordable prices." In the publication, Barron's 11th edition calls SLU an "urban research university that refuses to act like one, caring for each individual as a total person and drawing its undergraduates into the life of the surrounding community."
The John Templeton Foundation named SLU one of 325 colleges and universities nationwide that promotes character growth and development among the student body.
SLU ranked No. 4 on Washington Monthly's list of universities that participate in the most community service.
SLU is one of only nine Catholic universities with a higher or highest research activity designation from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. SLU receives research contracts from governmental sources, private foundations, and business and industry.
For eight consecutive years, SLU has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.
The 2016 edition recognizes the country's colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. Criteria for making the Military Friendly Schools list included efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students and academic accreditations.
Saint Louis University was named a College of Distinction in 2015-2016 for its commitment to engaged students, great teaching, a vibrant community and successful student outcomes. SLU has also been recognized as a College of Catholic Distinction and a College of Missouri distinction by Colleges of Distinction.
In March 2015, Saint Louis University earned national recognition for its efforts to create a green campus and university system, receiving a silver rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). The organization gave SLU high marks for its sustainability policies in human resources, diversity and affordability, dining services, water management, public engagement and innovation.
Spanning more than three dozen specialties, more than 180 doctors from SLUCare were selected for St. Louis Magazine's annual "Best Doctor's" list. The list is based on the annual "Best Doctors in America" database, which considers more than one million peer evaluations to create a directory of approximately 30,000 doctors.
