Entrepreneur Services

Saint Louis University's research enterprise aims to facilitate innovation beyond faculty and students. As part of our efforts to extend the innovation ecosystem to the community at large, we help operate a pair of programs:

Innovation Mentoring Teams

Innovation Mentoring Teams connect entrepreneurs with expertise and resources to foster business growth in the St. Louis region. It blends the SLUStart training program with services formerly provided by Gateway Venture Mentoring Service. The experienced Gateway mentors have helped launch more than 150 ventures, about half founded by women or minorities.

Patent Assistance Program

This service assists financially under-resourced inventors in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska or Oklahoma. Though there is a processing fee to submit ideas, applicants can be considered for free patent attorney and/or patent agent time. The program is offered through an agreement with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
