August



Who - Little Sisters of the Poor, a nursing home for low-income elderly.
What - Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of our Garage Sale, assisting customers, taking payments, etc.
When - Saturday, August 27th, either 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm - 4pm (or both!)

Who - The Open Space Council.
What - Volunteers are needed for Operation Clean Stream, the Open Space Council's premier event. Assist with our event registration table and set up for our educational program, Passport to Clean Water.

Who - St. Louis Earth Day Recycling on the Go.
What - Volunteers are needed to manage recycling efforts at the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park, as well as assist with "green" educational booths. 
When - Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th, anytime 8am-4pm either day.

Who - Our Lady's Inn, and tranistional housing organization for pregnant women and women with children.
What - Volutneers are needed to play with the children while resident engage in cleaning and maintenance around the building.
When - Saturday, Sept. 3rd from 9am-Noon.

Who - Missouri Botanical Garden.
What - We are seeking energetic volunteers with a passion for going green to help us at the upcoming Japanese Festival in the Gardens! Volunteers working the Recycle, Landfill, and Compost tents, and will help Festival visitors properly dispose of waste - helping the Garden make sure that we are making this popular Festival a near Zero-Waste festival.
When - Saturday, Sept. 3rd / Sunday, Sept. 4th / Monday, Sept. 5th - 3 hour shifts any day either 11am-2pm, 2pm-5pm, or 5pm-8pm.

Who - Prison Performing Arts.
What - Volunteers are needed for the 2018 PPA Annual Bash, helping with all aspects of this celebration and fundraiser.
When - Thursday, September 8th; set-up from 1:00pm-6:00pm, event from 6:00pm-10:00pm, clean-up from 10:00pm-11:30pm (anytime during these shifts!)

Who - Alzheimer's Association.
What - Volunteers are needed to assist with the St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer's. A variety of opportunities are available from set up, t-shirt distribution, greeter, route and water patrol, usher, thank you brigade and clean-up.

Who - Christian Friends of New Americans.
What - Volunteers are needed for our monthly free health clinic for immigrants and refugees.  Assist with intake, basic screenings, handing out information, nutrition lessons, etc.  Pre-med, nursing, or health sciences students preferred, but not necessary!
When - Saturday, Sept. 10th 9:30am-12:30pm

Who - Almost Home, a transitional housing program for women and children.
What - Almost Home will be hosting its annual Back to School BBQ for our families, filled with activities, games, music, and entertainment. During this extensive celebration, we need volunteers to help us setup tables, manage activity booths, serve food and drink, monitor bathroom facilities and trash bags, hand out gifts, and cleanup!

Who - TREE House of Greater St. Louis, an animal therapy organization for people with disabilities.
What - Volunteers are needed for our annual fundraiser polo match, assisting with all aspects of the event.

Who - Places For People, assisting adults with mental health issues.
What - America's Dome Concessions Volunteers -- Places for People has created a new and exciting partnership with Levy Restaurants! Connect volunteering with fundraising by donating your time to assist with food and concessions at America's Dome for upcoming events and bring back 12% of the profits to Places for People!  Assist with concessions at the Beyonce concert.

Who - CHADS Coalition for Mental Health.
What - Volunteers are needed for our CHADS Superhero 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.  Assist with beverage stations, registration, awards, and cleanup.

Who - Great Rivers Greenway.
What - Volunteers are needed to help track people walking or biking as part of the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project.  Volunteers commit to standing at an assigned street corner for 2 hours, and tallying how many walkers and bikers they see. 
When - Either Tuesday, Sept. 13th or Wednesday, Sept. 14th, 5-7pm.  Training session on Tuesday Sept. 7th from 6:30-7:30pm.

What - Volunteers are needed for our Signature Chefs Gala, assisting with the auction, guest check-in, etc.  Dress attire required.

Who - Craft Alliance, an arts-education non-profit for the St. Louis community.
What - This year's MetroQuest, a pub crawl and cross-town adventure organized by STL Public Radio, will take participants through the Central West End and the Delmar Loop on a scavenger hunt, pub crawl, and trivia competition to truly test their knowledge of this city. Craft Alliance is hosting the after-party, which will feature food, drinks and more! Craft Alliance Volunteers will help welcome and direct participants as well as other tasks centered on managing the after-party event.

What - Volunteers are needed for Juvenile Arthritis Family Day, a fun-filled day for families of children living with arthritis.  Assist with various games, booths, animal petting area, and more!

Who - Let's Start Inc., a community organization working to lift supporting women and their families out of poverty.
What - Volunteers are needed for our Let's Start the Music annual Gala. Volunteers will be used in our check in table; they will be used during various points of the fundraising activities (like our Fund a Need); and wherever else extra hands will be helpful.

Who - The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
What - Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of the annual Light The Night event in Forest Park.  Help with set-up, lantern making, directing traffic, money collection, drink distribution, and as volunteers in our interactive Kids Zone!

Who - Art in the Park.
What - Volunteers are needed to assist with this event that brings art to Francis Park in St. Louis City.  Help with registration, distributing food/drinks to artists with booths, directing traffic, etc.
