Minecraft Design Challenge

Minecraft - Game Design - Creativity - Problem Solving

Program Information
JUN05GRADE3-8$295

Begin an investigation into Minecraft with an exploration of your own creativity and problem solving skills. You will learn design basics that will allow you to imagine and create your own skins, objects, houses and worlds and import them into your own Minecraft worlds. Prior to camp participants have built everything from powered steel doors, hidden auto-activated traps, powered elevators, roller coasters and even a working computer circuit within Minecraft. Other design efforts focus on homes, automated farming, and much of the time, just fun with design aesthetics.

Students MUST bring their own PC/MAC laptop with Minecraft installed, with their own user ID. Mobile versions on tablets or mobile phones of Minecraft are not compatible with design activities. No prior coding skills required. Skills learned are applicable to Xbox-based gaming but modding the Xbox environment directly will not be covered.
