Climate Change, UAS/UAV and Precision Agriculture

Project: Climate Change, UAS/UAV and Precision Agriculture
Faculty: Dr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu
Summary: This research focuses on developing new methods for
monitoring crop growth and management, which is critical to improve
food security amid water scarcity and air pollution.

Project: Deforestation and Biodiversity
Dr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu
Tropical forest habitats have been exacerbated by
contemporary climate change. This has lead to many different issues
in the areas.

InSAR Project: InSAR Monitoring of Geological Hazards
Faculty: Dr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu
Summary: Satellite based synthetic aperture radar (InSAR)
interferometry offers the advantage of providing precise
measurements of subsidence rates over a large geographic
area at a very competitive cost.
Watkins Creek

Project: OneSTL Regional Plan for Sustainable Development
Faculty: Dr. Sarah Coffin, Dr. John Woolschlager
Summary: Development of a data portal, online toolkit, and series of
scenario models to help regional stakeholders understand how sustainability
can influence planning and development in the St. Louis region.

Project: Social and Ecological Drivers of Pollinator Health
Faculty: Dr. Damon Hall, Dr. Camilo Gerardo
Summary: Development of an interdisciplinary approach for examining
relationships between pollinator health and urban land-use decision making in
St. Louis and other cities.

Project: Strategies for Communicating Systems Models
Faculty: Dr. Damon Hall
Summary: A collaboration among systems modelers and sustainability science
researchers to reflect on systems communication successes and failures.

Project: Toward a More Sustainable Agricultural System
Faculty: Dr. Allison Miller
Summary: An ambitious, large-scale, global effort to identify perennial species
as candidates for domestication and use in perennial polycultures.

Project: Tree Health and Power Grid Damage Forecasting
Dr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu
Dr. Wulamu is working with researchers at Saint Louis University to
identify areas that are prone to windfalls and weather damage using satellite
remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems.

Project: Unsustainable Ordinances
Faculty: Dr. Damon Hall
Summary: An examination of municipal ordinances that may prevent sustainable
land-use practices that support pollinator species.

Project: Water Quality Under Climate and Land Use Changes
Faculty: Dr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu
Summary: This research addresses water quality concerns by developing models
and products of land-cover and land-use change and future climate scenarios.

Yellowstone River Basin

Project: Water Resources Management
Faculty: Dr. Damon Hall
