Saint Louis University’s major administrative divisions and offices provide services, resources and leadership to support teaching, research, health care and service activities. Guided by the University’s mission, these units work strategically to make SLU’s operations as efficient and effective as possible.
The President’s Cabinet is composed of the leaders of each administrative office, along with a representative from the deans and a representative from the clinical chairs in the School of Medicine. The cabinet advises the President on important University matters and works closely with trustees, deans and other vice presidents to advance SLU’s strategic priorities.

The Department of Athletics supports 18 NCAA Division I sport programs, along with cheer and dance teams and the pep band. The Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement helps SLU forge stronger bonds of common human purpose and shared values across the distinctions of race, class, gender, sexual identity and faith. The division’s areas of responsibility include the Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship, the Center for Global Citizenship, Center for Social Action, a Diversity Speaker Series and the annual MLK Tribute. The SLU Research Institute and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) work hand-in-hand to provide support at every stage of the research process. Established in 2018, the Research Institute has placed SLU on the path to becoming a preeminent Jesuit research university, providing critical funding for researchers and forging new partnerships across the region. OVPR oversees all aspects of sponsored research, assisting researchers in finding grant opportunities, identifying commercial applications for their novel ideas, and maintaining an ethical and safe research environment.
