A new undergraduate minor has been added to the CHCE course offerings and is scheduled to begin in the spring semester, 2012. Under the direction of new faculty member, Erica K. Salter, PhD, the 15-credit hour program will offer Saint Louis University undergraduate students a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education in the normative ethical questions that arise in our complex health care system.
Given the large number of students currently being trained in a variety of health professions at the baccalaureate level, a minor in health care ethics will provide these students with the opportunity to engage in the normative dimensions of health care, preparing them to be responsible and reflective health professionals. Students will employ foundational concepts and methods in bioethics while engaging in the analysis of specific moral questions and cases in a variety of health-care fields, including medicine, nursing, public health, clinical research and the allied health professions.
The minor requires no pre-requisites. For more information, or to apply, go to the undergraduate minor website.
