The mission of Saint Louis University's Billiken Bounty is to provide a sustainable
on-campus resource to help alleviate food insecurity among SLU students. The values
of privacy, professionalism, respect and dignity guide the project.
In partnership with the Center for Social Action and the Dean of Students Office, and in the name of cura personalis, SLU student leaders have created a structure for a safe place to obtain groceries, where Saint Louis University students can choose from a variety of healthy foods to attain food security. The pantry also catalyzes positive change for SLU students by providing information and connection to other local and campus resources for personal and academic success.
Referral System
Billiken Bounty operates using a referral system. Students seeking assistance for food insecurity must obtain a referral (via EAB Navigate) from the appropriate office below:
- Domestic Students: Contact the Dean of Students Office, Busch Student Center, Suite 356 (deanofstudents@slu.edu).
- International Students: Contact the Office of International Services, Des Peres Hall, Suite 102 (internationalservices@slu.edu).
Students will then bring an electronic copy of their referral (issued via email), along with their student ID, to the pantry to check in before shopping.
Hours
The in-person shopping hours for the 2024-2025 year are:
- 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday - Friday
- Noon-4 p.m., Saturday - Sunday
