What started in 1963 with 16 men has grown to a group of 180 diverse student leaders from all across campus who serve as mentors and guides to Saint Louis University the first weeks on campus.
You’ll first meet your Oriflamme leader when you arrive at your residence hall during move-in. You won’t believe how quickly move-in goes. They’ll keep up the excitement at Fall Welcome events such as the spirit competition, Paint SLU and new student convocation. Oriflamme Leaders serve as fall orientation leaders and they also lead small group discussions about involvement, diversity and more — all so you feel as comfortable as possible as you transition to life at SLU.
Oriflamme Leader Coordinators
Oriflamme leader coordinators are students who have served as Oriflamme leaders for at least a year. They assist in the training of Oriflamme leaders and team leaders. They are selected through an interview process and serve a year term to prepare for Fall Welcome.
Oriflamme Team Leaders
These students interview in October and are selected in November to serve alongside the coordinators as a part of the Oriflamme leadership team. They attend training sessions in the spring to prepare themselves to lead their “flammily” of Oriflamme leaders through Fall Welcome. They also assist with Winter Welcome and First-Year Experience programs.
