Hometown: Gainesville, Florida

Medical School: University of Florida

Outside hobbies/interests: Cooking, traveling, photography, playing the violin, trivia games

Professional interests: Neonatal neurology, graduate medical education

What I like about our residency program: I was looking for a close-knit program that offered an excellent education and great mentorship. SLU met all these criteria and more! There is a great sense of support and community—everybody here has been so welcoming and friendly. Plus, there’s a good mix of bread-and-butter general neurology as well as rare pathology. Teaching is a priority and on my interview day I could see that SLU takes resident education very seriously. I feel that this program will give you all the tools necessary to be successful in the field.

What I like about St. Louis: St. Louis is a big city that feels like a small town. Each neighborhood has its own vibe and fair share of amazing restaurants. Many of the attractions are free and there are so many parks to enjoy. My husband and I are constantly discovering fun things to do!

What I like about our residency program: During my interview, I had a glimpse of the culture at Saint Louis University where everyone is welcoming and willing to help. It felt warm and it felt right. Everyone, from your fellow residents to your attendings, has your best interest at heart and will help you become the best physician you can be.

What I like about St. Louis: It is a small city that has a big city feel [without the traffic that come with big cities] and it is quite affordable. I enjoy going to Forest Park. Most of the attractions in the city are either free or very affordable for what is offered. I have yet to discover more of this city, but I have enjoyed it so far.

What I like about our residency program: I like my faculty and peers a lot. I started off inpatient and had a very supportive senior resident and an amazing team to work with. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences have been fun so far. There is a lot to learn, and both seniors and faculty help. Besides, one of the most important aspects is the environment which is respectful for each other and conducive to learning.

What I like about St. Louis: It is an interesting place-- gives me a small town and a big city experience at the same time. It is beautiful, and I could afford a very nice apartment for myself here. The Muny theatre is great, and so is the Forest Park. You will find things to do and stay connected to nature too.
