Department of Pediatrics

Saint Louis University School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics improves children's health through patient care, education, research, compassion and a profound respect for human dignity.

A Message From the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics.

Our department is based at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, which is adjacent to the School of Medicine campus. We have more than 130 faculty members, many of whom have been recognized as Castle Connolly Top Doctors.

Our physicians are proud to provide accessible primary care to a diverse patient population, regardless of background, finances or insurance. We create personalized treatments for patients with complex or rare conditions — a commitment that’s supported by their dedication to clinical trials and basic, translational and educational research. We operate in a fast-paced environment, and we prioritize family-centered rounds, patient education, music therapy and school liaisons.

The department is deeply committed to education. We train both undergraduate and graduate medical students along with allied health professionals and residents completing pediatric rotations. We also work with the University’s Department for Health and Clinical Outcomes Research to facilitate academic projects for both trainees and faculty.

We encourage you to explore our services and impact.
