11/25/2019

As work continues on SLU’s new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (ISE) Building, the University community will celebrate the building’s progress to-date with a topping-out ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the construction site on the West Pine Mall between the Busch Student Center and the building site.

As part of the ceremony, students, faculty, staff and friends of the University will be able to sign the steel beam that will complete the topping-out.

The signing will take place between 11 a.m. and noon, with light refreshments available.

At noon, there will be a brief program before the beam is raised and put in place.

The $50 million building is slated to open in 2020. The 90,000-square-foot, three-story building is being built on the southern edge of Tegeler Field, just east of Ritter Hall.

It is intended to be a showcase facility where faculty, undergraduates and graduate students can come together to learn, experiment and innovatively collaborate in advanced and flexible lab and classroom spaces.
