Physical wellness involves making choices to fulfill our bodies in a meaningful way. It balances all aspects of the physical self, including sleep, movement, nutrition, hygiene, relaxation and getting the care you need when you are ill or injured.

Common recommendations to assist in physical well-being include: 

  • Be physically active
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Get recommended health screenings and immunizations
  • Get enough sleep
  • Limit alcohol
  • Stop tobacco use

Cooking Demos

Coming fall 2024

Join us for a free cooking demo led by one of our own Saint Louis University dietetic interns. Join your coworkers for a lunchtime cooking demo, learn a new recipe, and nutrition education. Feel free to bring your lunch. Food samples will be provided.

Simon Recreation Center

From club sports to spinning classes, SLU provides quality recreational opportunities that aid and encourage a healthy lifestyle, and contribute to your overall well-being. Participation in these activities can:

  • Develop team-building and leadership skills
  • Improve happiness and self-confidence
  • Build character and community
  • Reduce stress

Alumni, faculty and staff may purchase a daily-use pass or a membership to use the Simon Recreation Center. Memberships are not available to the general public.

Saint Louis University Physical Therapy Clinic

The providers of the Saint Louis University Physical Therapy Clinic address pain concerns, movement deficits, loss of function, post-surgical rehabilitation and functional limitations. Patients can expect a one-on-one, individualized approach that will facilitate optimal recovery by combining current research and the highest standards of practice. Fresh Gatherings Cafe

Eat Locally. Impact Globally. Fresh Gatherings Cafe is a student-run cafe that offers local farm-fresh food, including some vegan options, in Saint Louis University’s Allied Health Building.

Center for Advanced Dental Education (CADE)

Providing services for both adults and children, the Center for Advanced Dental Education offers advanced care at a lower cost than traditional practices. Services include orthodontics (braces), endodontics (root canals), periodontics (gum disease and implants) and pediatric dentistry (comprehensive dentistry for children under the age of 12). General dentistry services are offered only in the pediatric dentistry program.

Smoking Cessation Resources

Are you ready to quit smoking? Freedom From Smoking Plus is a no-cost program offered through the American Lung Association in partnership with CVS Pharmacy. This program is one of the most effective, interactive quit-smoking programs that allows you to create a unique plan on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
