Service learning is a pedagogical method used in many academic courses that makes service to others an integrated part of the curriculum. Students, while engaging in service experiences, gain wisdom and knowledge from the community partner, who acts as a co-educator. The partner, in turn, benefits from the work provided, making it a reciprocal relationship. The students, after applying concepts learned in the classroom to this experience, reflect on their service, thereby enhancing the academic curriculum.
