Student News: Kelly Dineen, JD

Kelly Dineen, JD, a current PhD student in the department, has recently assumed the role of Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Instructor of Health Law at Saint Louis University School of Law, where she previously served as the Assistant Director of the Center for Health Law Studies. Before attending law school, Kelly practiced nursing for ten years, first in a neurosurgical and organ transplant intensive care unit and later as a neurosurgical clinical and research nurse at an academic medical center.

Kelly presented a paper at the 11th Annual International Network of Philosophy and Psychiatry Conference for Philosophy and Mental Health in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 6. The paper originated in the Interdisciplinary Research Methods class taught by James Dubois and is entitled, "Prediction and Prevention not Reaction and Reduction: Predicting Stigmatization of Individuals with Asperger Disorder and High Functioning Autism."

She and fellow student Anji Wall also presented at the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio. Read about their topics here.
