Kelly Dineen, JD, presented her paper "Some Devices are Different: The Appropriate Role of Industry Representatives in the Care of Patients with Programmable Implanted Neuromodulation Devices." Her interest in this subject developed from her nursing experience caring for patients with implanted programmable neuromodulation devices for chronic pain and movement disorders.

Anji Wall, a third year PhD student in the MD/PhD program, presented her talk, “The Duty of Physicians to Warn Relatives of the Risk of Genetic Disease,” in which she argued that there are certain circumstances in which a physician has an ethical duty to warn family members of the risk of genetic disease, without the consent of the individual patient.
