Emily Anderson, PhD, MPH ('07) started a new position as Assistant of Bioethics and Health Policy at the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics & Health Policy, Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Chicago.

Dr. Anderson also co-authored a paper with T. Hotze, K. Shah, and M. Wynia titled, "'Doctor, Would You Prescribe a Pill to Help Me ... ?' A National Survey of Physicians on Using Medicine for Human Enhancement." in the American Journal of Bioethics. 11(1):3-13. (January, 2011)

John Brehany, PhD, STL ('03) presented "The ABCs of the ERDs," The Formation of Physicians: Vision and Virtues for a New Era in Medicine, at the 80th Annual Educational Conference, Catholic Medical Association. (October, 2011)

He was also a panelist for "Conscience Protections: Smart Medicine or Dereliction of Duty?" at the 12th Annual Conference on Public Service and the Law, University of Virginia School of Law. (February, 2011)

Dan O'Brien, PhD ('00) was named VP, Ethics and Church Relations at Ascension Health.

He presented "Diverging Roads: Cultural and Political Trends and Their Impact on Catholic Healthcare" at The Most Reverend John McCarthy Lecture Series on the Catholic Church in the 21st Century at St. Edward's University. (April, 2011)

Mark F. Repenshek, PhD ('05) presented "Getting Going on Environmental Stewardship: Our Beginning Journey" at the Practice Greenhealth Webinar. (June, 2011)

Dr. Repenshek also co-published a book with CHCE alumni M. Panicola, D. Belde, and J.P. Slosar titled, "An Introduction to Healthcare Ethics: Theological Foundations, Contemporary Issues, and Controversial Cases," (Revised and Expanded). St. Mary's Press, Collegeville, MN. (2011)

Erica K. Salter, PhD ('11) started a new position at the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics as Instructor and Director of the new Undergraduate Minor in Health Care Ethics.

Alan Sanders, PhD ('08) was named Director of Ethics for Catholic Health East system office.

He also co-authored a paper with M. Schepp and M. Baird titled, "Partial Do-Not-Resuscitate Orders: A Hazard to Patient Safety and Clinical Outcomes?" in Critical Care Medicine, 39(1):14-18. (2011)

Anji Wall, PhD ('09) started a new position as General Surgery Resident at Vanderbilt University.

She presented a poster at ASBH titled, "Reprocessing and Reusing Single Use Surgical Devices." (October, 2011)

She also published a book with University Press of New England titled, "Ethics for International Medicine: a Practical Guide for Aid Workers in Developing Countries" (In press)

Additionally, Dr. Wall co-authored an article with R. Tait, J. Chibnall, A. Iltis, and T. Deshields titled, "Assessment of Consent Capability in Psychiatric and Medical Studies." in the Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics. 6(1):39-50. (March, 2011)
