PT Clinic to Host Open House in New Location

Saint Louis University's Physical Therapy Clinic, an affiliate of the Student Health Center, invites the SLU community to an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the clinic’s new location at 3524 Laclede Ave.

Guests will be able to tour the clinic and meet the physical therapy staff. Appetizers and light refreshments will be served.

The clinic relocated within the Marchetti Tower West building on April 14. It had operated in the eastern leg of the Marchetti Tower West building for several years, but during that time, the practice experienced a steady increase in patients that led the clinic to outgrow its former space.

The opportunity for clinic renovation was possible because of funding and support from the Division of Student Development and support from the Doisy College of Health Sciences.

Jennifer Stateler, DPT, physical therapy clinical service manager, is very enthusiastic about the upgrades that the new space provides.

"Our new location gives us increased square footage to accommodate our growing patient population and enhanced ability to serve the entire SLU community,” Stateler said. "The new and improved layout allows for utilization of private treatment areas, overall enriched patient-therapist interactions and space for expanded student learning opportunities."

The physical therapy clinic is open to the entire SLU community, and specializes in treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries. All of the clinic’s physical therapists hold American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties certifications in the field of orthopedics or sports. Patients can expect a one-on-one, individualized approach that will facilitate optimal recovery by combining current research and highest standards of practice.
