AT Program Becomes Silver Sponsor of MoATA

Saint Louis University’s Athletic Training Program has become a Silver Sponsor of the Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Association. SLU's athletic training program is the only academic program to currently provide support at the silver level for the association.

The athletic training program has been involved with MoATA on various levels for years. Katherine Newsham, Ph.D., associate professor, is in her third year as president of the association, and the University hosted MoATA state meetings on its campus in 2009 and 2013.

Anthony Breitbach, Ph.D., director of the athletic training program, said he was happy to see the program’s donation go to the organization.

“MoATA has grown substantially and the organization supports the profession of athletic training and the welfare of all Missourians,” Breitbach said. “The SLU athletic training program is proud to show its appreciation as a sponsor of the organization.”

MoATA is the professional organization for athletic trainers in Missouri: directly serving its members by promoting the profession through communication, education and advocacy. The association strives for an environment in which athletic trainers receive the support and recognition necessary to provide the highest quality care for their patients.
