DCHS Alumni Newsletter Message from the Dean

We’ve just kicked off the new school year at DCHS and we’re excited for all that we can accomplish! While we enjoy the opportunity to welcome new faces – both students and some new faculty members – one of the best parts of the fall is celebrating Homecoming and Family Weekend. DCHS is hosting multiple exciting events and we hope you can join us as we celebrate being lifelong members of the Billiken family.

On the evening of Friday, Sept. 27, our Department of Nutrition and Dietetics hosts a night featuring exceptional food, drinks and fellowship at its annual Garden to Table Event. Then on Saturday morning (9/28), our Program in Physical Therapy starts the day off with the Cheryl Cavallo Hustle for Your Health 5K that starts and ends on the SLU Medical Center Track and raises money for PT students that want to continue Dr. Cavallo’s mission-centered efforts and go on volunteer trips to other countries. After the 5K, guests can refuel at the Pancake Breakfast – hosted by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics – and check out what is new in DCHS by taking a guided building tour of our Allied Health Professions Building. Finally, current students, faculty and alumni of our Clinical Health Sciences department can catch up at the CHS Student and Alumni Reception from noon – 2 pm. You can register for any of these great events at alumni.slu.edu/HCFW19.

If you can’t make it to any SLU Homecoming and Family Weekend events, we still invite you to keep in touch. You can find out some of the latest DCHS news by reading the summer edition of our college magazine On the Record.

As always, it’s a great day to Be a Billiken!
