DCHS Alumni Newsletter Message from the Dean: Fall 2019

The 2019-2020 school year is well underway. It’s hard to believe mid-terms are already behind us and Thanksgiving break is right around the corner. We were happy to see so many of you at Homecoming and Family weekend earlier this fall. If you were not able to make it this year, we hope you have marked September 25-27, 2020 on your calendars so you can join in on next year’s festivities.

Billikens have long been known for making their mark all over the world, and the students and faculty at Doisy College of Health Sciences are no different. In this issue of the newsletter, you can read about a Health Sciences student originally from Iran who has made her mark in the international chess scene both for her great skill and individuality in a traditionally male-dominated sport. You will also find out how one Athletic Training professors is representing SLU and advocating for the profession by presenting at numerous international events and by forging partnerships with other programs around the world. Finally, this edition also features a story about the students and faculty of our Nuclear Medicine Technology program receiving research awards at their national conference in California earlier this year.

These are just a few examples of the wonderful things our students and faculty are doing every day here at DCHS. We hope you keep in touch as you continue the great work you do in your community as well.

As always, it’s a great day to Be a Billiken!
