Research Interests

Dr. Olu Owoeye, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Saint Louis University and a sports physical therapist, injury epidemiologist, and implementation scientist. He serves as Director of the Translational Injury Prevention (TIP) Laboratory, where his research focuses on injury prevention, health promotion, and the implementation of evidence-based practices in sport and exercise settings. His work aims to improve athlete health, enhance safe sport participation, and translate research findings into real-world practice. Supported by competitive funding from organizations including the NBA and the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Owoeye has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed publications in leading sports medicine and public health journals.

Labs and Facilities

The Translational Injury Prevention Lab (TIP Lab) is based out of Saint Louis University. The TIP Lab is committed to advancing sports and exercise injury prevention and musculoskeletal health through high quality knowledge translation research and practical solutions that enhance the safety and wellbeing of athletes and active individuals worldwide.

Musculoskeletal Athletic Injury Prevention Online Training Course (MAP) for Coaches: Reducing Injuries and Enhancing Performance. MAP for Coaches is a novel eLearning tool for youth sports coaches to increase their knowledge regarding sports-related musculoskeletal injuries and best injury prevention practices towards reducing injuries and enhancing performance in youth sport athletes.
