Vrushangi Shah Finds Passion After Mentorship, Experience at SLU

Vrushangi Shah (BS, ’20) decided that for her, a Health Management degree with a minor in Public Health was “the best decision I made at SLU.”

During her time at SLU, Vrushangi was deeply involved in many student organizations, including serving as a resident advisor and co-founding the Health Management and Policy Club.

Now, as a first year MHA student at the University of Southern California, Vrushangi has found passion in patient experience during her residency, and hopes to continue to do so in her career. Vrushangi believes that direct entry to graduate school was a good choice shaped by her residency at SSM Health during her time at SLU.

After graduating with her MHA, Vrushangi has not decided yet whether she will pursue a fellowship program or a full-time position without one. However, she says that the influence of her mentors at SLU, Dr. Rhonda BeLue and Dr. Kevin Syberg, has played a major role in her development as a health management student.

The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice is the only academic unit of its kind, studying social, environmental and physical influences that together determine the health and well-being of people and communities.
