Health Management

Saint Louis University's undergraduate major in health management combines liberal arts, business and the study of the health care industry. You’ll focus on all the elements of a health system: marketing, finance, human resources, organization, technology and strategic planning.

Major in Health Management

Offered through the College for Public Health and Social Justice, this degree features a specialized track for students who plan to go to medical school that includes both rigorous traditional pre-med science requirements and health management classes. Pre-med students can also double major in a traditional science program and health management.

SLU also offers a competitive accelerated Bachelor of Science and master's program that allows students to earn a bachelor’s in health management in four years and a Master of Health Administration with just one additional year of study.

Case studies and group work will prepare you to work in teams and as a leader who is responsible for decision-making in all areas of the health care industry.

During senior year, you will complete a career-development “health management rounds” course where you’ll explore the philosophical approaches, leadership styles, policy processes and decision-making strategies used by successful health care management executives, health policy makers and health policy analysts.

SLU’s health management major combines a core curriculum with 30 credit hours of health management courses that will prepare you to be a business professional in health care.
