Commute to SLU
You don't have to live on campus to have an amazing college experience at Saint Louis University. While more than 90 percent of SLU freshmen live in residence halls, everyone has the chance to find lifelong friends and make incredible memories.
Where Will I Hang Out?
If you think you'll commute to campus, check out the Commuter Lounge on the first floor of the Busch Student Center during your visit to SLU. Commuter students rest on a couch between classes, study, watch TV and connect with friends.
"It's really like a huge family," said commuter student Luella. "There really is this vibe in the air. As soon as you come on campus, you really do feel like you are welcomed."
How Can I Stay Involved?
Commuter students have special dining plans — so you can still literally get a taste of on-campus living — and full access to the Simon Recreation Center. Learn more about the places to go between classes and the different dining options.
SLU students can also participate in various clubs and activities on campus. Find a group that interests you.
Will I Have an RA?
You'll have a CA! CAs, also known as Commuter Assistants, are upperclassmen who are available if a student needs help or has questions. They coordinate activities and encourage connections between commuter students.
You can also join the Commuter Student Association, which helps students who don't live on campus remain connected to the larger SLU community
