SOE Student Nate Reyes Named 2025 MACTE RISE Scholarship Recipient

Nate Reyes, a secondary education major at Saint Louis University's School of Education,
has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Montessori Accreditation Council for
Teacher Education (MACTE) Recognizing Inspiring Students in Education (RISE) Scholarship.
This prestigious award recognizes promising future educators who demonstrate exceptional
commitment to the teaching profession.

Reyes, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Education with concentrations in English and Research-Intensive English, stood out for his dedication to fostering student engagement and personalized learning approaches. His teaching philosophy emphasizes building strong relationships with students and creating an environment where all learners can thrive.
During his practicum experience, Reyes demonstrated his innovative teaching approach by successfully engaging struggling students through personalized learning strategies and by connecting classroom content to students' interests. His commitment to inclusive education and student-centered learning exemplifies the qualities that the MACTE RISE Scholarship aims to recognize and support.
Reyes is preparing for certification in Secondary English Language Arts (Grades 9-12) and plans to continue inspiring future generations of students in the classroom.
