School of Education Celebrates Women Educators

05/08/2025

The Saint Louis University School of Education held an event to honor women who have played a significant role in shaping educational journeys on March 26 at Sophie’s Artist Lounge. The event coincides with Women’s History Month and the School of Education’s 100-year anniversary.

The gathering welcomed faculty, staff, graduate students, community members and guests of the School of Education. The school invited attendees to nominate individuals who inspired them and who made a difference in their lives. Through this “pay it forward” system, the school honored and recognized 38 women during the event.

Molly Schaller, Ph.D., assistant dean of the School of Education, spoke on the importance of womanhood, educating the youth and sharing your personal narrative.

“Never stop telling your story,” said Schaller. She also discussed how diverse experiences contribute to inspiration and progress in education.

The evening fostered a sense of connection and appreciation among participants that is needed now more than ever. The School of Education plans to continue this celebration in the future, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging the contributions of women in the field.
