SLU-Madrid Kicks Off the Spring Semester

At the beginning of each semester, SLU-Madrid buzzes with activity as students meet the faculty and settle into their routines. Classes begin on Wednesday, January 9. Academic advisers and faculty are available to help students finalize their course schedules.

Outside the classroom, both new and returning students learn about Spain's history and culture through campus-sponsored excursions to Toledo, the Monasterio de Piedra, Segovia and Salamanca (sign up and pay in the Finance Office).

Monasterio de Piedra

Students pose for a photo in front of a waterfall at the scenic Monasterio de Piedra. This semester, SLU-Madrid is offering weekend day trips to Toledo, the Monasterio de Piedra, Segovia and Salamanca.

Students can discover tortilla, croquetas, jamón serrano and other Spanish delicacies at the first tapas night of the semester on Wednesday, January 9 (meet Campus Ambassadors at PRH entrance at 7 p.m.). Faculty will also  offer guided tours of the historic city center followed by an evening of tapas on Thursday, January 11 (meet at the Cervantes statue in Plaza de España at 7 p.m.).

Students can find out about campus clubs, activities, service opportunities, sports and more at the Activities Fair in SIH Patio on Thursday, January 10, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
